Norway’s capital city has a beautiful setting at the head of a 70 mile long fjord. The population of Oslo is about a half a million and it is a city that has a cosmopolitan feel with lots of night life and arts and culture. The people of Oslo tend to be very active and fit in this very “green” city boasting many parks, beaches, biking and hiking paths. The Norwegians are brought up from a very young age to spend lots of time out of doors.
There are so many historical and cultural things to explore. Head out on the ferry from the city center to the Bygdoy Penisula, where many museums are found. The Folk museum and Viking museums were fab.
Make sure to make it out to the Holmenkollen Ski Jump and museum. Ski jumping has long been a tradition in Norway and Holmenkollen is one of the best. The ride up in the metro is very fun and the views are super. If you dare, try out the zip line that is located at the jump.
Check out the outdoor Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park. This is the most visited of all attractions in Norway. You won’t beleive in until you see it!!!
Check out some of the awesome beaches in the city. Take a jump in the Fjord. I dare you.
